5.supply of sanitation facilities to partners schools.

There is an insufficient supply of school sanitation facilities to meet the demands of children in rural Primary Schools and Secondary School. Less than 50% of rural Schools in Jinja District have access to adequate sanitation. Latrine supply and repairs is much lower in Jinja District.

The latrines are dirty,no doors,no roofing, stinky, urine on the floor and almost full with larvae coming to the surface. The consequences of this supply and repair deficiency are poor educational outcomes especially in terms of attendance, and enrollment.

The World Bank estimates that pubescent girls lose as much as 10 to 20 percent of time at school due the absence of clean and private sanitation facilities that allow for menstrual hygiene. To supplement this research, there is a need to supply and repair sanitation facilities in rural areas of Jinja District at schools so that children can have access to education.
